Income Paragraph

Negative Paragraph:
-Whites had a higher household income than any other race.

Positive Paragraph:
-Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, and Asian, pacific islanders all had about the same Money income of families
-it's nice to know that families from all the different races tried there best to pitch in and help their families.

Suggestions: Give people a better education because with a better education they can get a better job.

Why does the author feel that whites owe King the greatest debt?-

The author believes that whites owe him the greatest debt, for liberating them from the burden of America's centuries-old hypocrisy about race. It is only because of King and the movement that he led that the U.S. can claim to be the leader of the "free world" without inviting smirks of disdain and disbelief.

Was King "the right man at the right time"?-

King was definetly the right man at the right time, who else had the voice and the power to lead the nation out of this deep hole other than MLK. His victory was so complete that it will go down in history. It is impossible to think of the movement unfolding as it did without him as its helm.

Would King be upset with the current use of his most often quoted line? Why or why not-

I do not think that King would be upset with his most often quoted line "I have a dream etc..." because it is simply the truth; it was his actual dream to free this great country of segregation. I think it truly shows his crusade against "racial preferences". But then again i guess it's not for us to say if he would like it or not.

Civil Disobedience

I feel that civil disobedience and non-violence is something that I could do. Non-violent resistance is having a desire to participate, like simple signs, or boycotting, i definetly believe that I could be a part of one of those. But a problem would most definetly be having to resist to the violence of those who didn't like my actions. But with a little bit of faith and friendship, anyone can overcome these difficulties. A positive is showing people that we are going to get what we want without using force (violence), we will not sink to our enemies levels.

Unit 8 Preview

I'm very excited to be using computers to learn! what a kick, i've always been intrigued with the overall topic of war and am excited to learn more about Vietnam and all the other topics we are about to embark on learning. All in all......I'M EXCITED!
